Nupur Mitra taken over the reins of Dena Bank as Chairperson & MD
Mrs Nupur Mitra has taken over the reins of Dena Bank as Chairperson & Managing Director on November 1, 2011 on retirement of Shri D L Rawal, CMD of the Bank on October 31, 2011.
Mrs Nupur Mitra has extensive Executive and Board level experience across wide spectrum of banking arena. Her former roles include Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank and in various capacities at Bank of India, which includes a stint heading Europe Operations from London. Passionate in supporting and growth of MSME segment, she says that lending to small and medium business is a safe bet.
Fundamentally strong Dena Bank, with its 1299 branches and a large presence in Maharashtra and Gujarat has also identified Agriculture, MSME and Retail as thrust areas of for lending.
